Gnomes, Moles & Other Critters

Spring sprang to summer, and summer reverted back to winter what with these wild temperature swings (I still don’t buy into global warming, even less now that Mr. Albert dubs it a “moral” issue. Does he even know what the word moral means in this sense??).

I’ve got snakes in my yard (even though the scoreboard fails to reflect it, the tally currently stands at…*drum roll, please*… EP 0, Snakes 1.5 (I gashed my palm trying to kill a snake with my whacking stick. The snake got away while I bled. I figured that deserves at least an extra half-point for the serpent industry.) I also have a mole living in the yard. I’ve never had a mole in my yard so every day has been a tunnel sight-seeing tour around the small property to see where the creature surfaces and re-burrows. I have no idea whether I’m supposed to let the thing alone or try to exterminate it. I hear they’re real boogers to get rid of.

Also, we have a gnome living under our roof. These people are awesome.
The gnome in question…

That picture is great!

Hey, maybe you could train the mole to fend off the snakes? Or maybe the other way around would work better, since you’ve already proven yourself capable of dispatching slithering pests. Most of the time. ;)

Sorry to hear about the snake whacking incident… it’s Joe:1 and Snakes:0 here in Delaware. Although I traded the whacking stick for a Ford Escape for this battle.
