Me & St. Philip

I’ve been hanging on to this picture for a few months knowing full well that I wanted to post it here when the time felt right. My son has started smiling, I’m visiting Texas and my home Louisiana playing a few shows, and the local temperature has risen above 40 for the first time in weeks. The day is good.

The Scene: I was eating breakfast one cold, sleety morning with the folks on the Andrew Peterson Christmas tour in the fellowship hall at a small church in Wichita, KS. Along one of the walls were 12 large paintings of the apostles of the faith. In good humor, we all tried to match one another’s likenesses with the various apostles hanging on the wall. Philip and I left very little doubt of our ultimate bearded supremacy and similarities (note bread in hand). Wouldn’t you agree?

I haven’t laughed that hard since “Eric Peters the Snake Charmer,” which is archived in the Sept., 2006 link, for those who haven’t seen it. Another two inches of hair, completly blown dry of course and two weeks on a tanning bed, and you could pass for Philip’s twin brother. Hilarious.
