A friend of mine in Sioux Falls, SD passed this info along to me. Sean Penn is currently directing the big-screen adaptation of Jon Krakauer’s book, Into the Wild, the complex and mesmerizing story of Christopher McCandless. Many of you already know that a song I wrote, “Bus 152″ (Land of the Living), was inspired by this legendary folk tale. Now if we can only get it on the movie soundtrack….Read more.

I am the friend from Sioux Falls…Eric, I think they should use your song in the movie. if they get anywhere near me I’ll blast your song really loud until I get arrested, get on TV and then they’ll know about your song. You’re welcome and God bless you…I hope you’re havin’ a blast at camp. With love from South Dakota…andy & sara

Hey E,
I have done the feelers for you at different levels in tinsle town for the very act of trying to find someone to listen to Bus 152. As usual, we’ll see what happens, no promises.

Does anybody know if there’s something that can be done by fans to suggest the song for the soundtrack?

EP - thoughts?

at this point, i’d say ANY lead is a good lead. i am clueless in this department of the biz since this is new territory for me. i’m going to try and talk to a couple of publishers here in town to see where that might lead. we’re not giving up until either the fat lady sings or sean penn rings….

I’m glad the rhymes you put to music are better than that one. ;) (sorry…I couldn’t resist.)

I talked to some guys at work about who might be the point of contact for something like this. These people know a lot of stuff, but not a lot about movie soundtracks. The only thing we could agree on is that unless you know Sean Penn or the guy producing the soundtrack, you probably have to go through the movie company.

Keep us updated on how it goes with publishers. And let us know if there’s something a grassroots effort could help with.

i’ve been put in touch with a couple of publishing companies. we’ll pursue this until the trail goes cold. your prayers and well-wishes are welcomed….
